Sunday Stroll in Downtown Augusta

After eating lunch we went on a little walk down Broad Street. It’s a shame people don’t utilize the median parks in front of the Imperial and Miller Theater but I’m hoping the revitalization of the area will result in an influx of people hanging out there. Augusta is still holding on to Christmas but I’m ready to embrace the new year.

Downtown Loft Tour

The Downtown Loft Tour is one of my favorite events to coordinate and it's probably because it's one of the few events I have enough time during the weekend to enjoy. This year we had 9 distinct buildings and 11 unique lofts ranging from churches to an architecture firm to a multi-story house. Scenes from Downtown Asheville, NC

It’s been over a year since my last trip to Asheville. We originally planned to go to an apple orchard but decided against it since the weather was still threatening rain. Fox Theater Atlanta

While we were in Atlanta we had the chance to walk around the fabulous Fox Theatre. I had no idea it was so gorgeous. The building was heavily influenced by Islamic, Moorish, and Egyptian architecture. We didn’t realize that they actually give tours of this inside so that will be on our to-do list for the next time we visit Atlanta if we aren’t able to go to a show there beforehand. It was sweltering hot outside but I’d say it was worth it to walk to check this site out.

Metro Market (R.I.P.)

Metro Market reminds me a lot of Caviar and Bananas in Charleston except it’s actually owned by Sprint! They had tons of grab-and-go options in addition to made-to-order crepes, sandwiches, and other lunch items that your ordered using a touch screen system on the wall. They had a decent selection of cheeses and craft beer for a snack to take home. I could see this being great for business people who want a quick, cheap bite for lunch.
