I decided to join in on a Facebook party because Usborne board books are some of Rooney’s absolute favorite books now! She loves the “That’s Not My…” series of touch and feel books.
Seven years. That’s how long it took me to get back up to the cottage, the place where my husband spent his summers with his cousins.
Oh Vermont, with your green mountains, winding roads, picturesque towns around every corner, cows grazing in the pastures, Subaru-driving North Face models, maple flavored goodies, and breweries. We fell in love with you as much as everyone warned us we would.
Our Star Baker turned one and we threw a sweet Great British Bake Off themed birthday party to celebrate.
I am in denial that today is your first birthday. How can it be possible that you’ve been earth side an entire year? In some ways it feels like you’ve always been here.

To celebrate Alex’s first Father’s Day, our little family of three headed to Ubora Coffee Roasters in downtown Augusta so we could be treated to someone else brewing our morning cup!
I decided to order a few books about dads for Father’s Day thinking my husband could read them out loud during bedtime. Here are a few last minute Father’s Day book ideas for baby.
Mother’s Day didn’t quite go to plan. We had a big brunch (biscuits with maple bacon jam, bacon and sausage, fresh fruit, and my favorite sausage gravy tater tot breakfast casserole) with my Mother-in-Law and my brother-in-law’s family but Rooney was fussy the whole time and I ended up taking her home for a nap instead of going to church with everyone else. It was disappointing and frustrating, to say the least.
A day filled with church, the most amazing Easter lunch/early dinner spread complete with a Robin’s egg coconut cake, and Easter baskets.
If you’re heading into town to frantically buy whatever bunny-themed items are left on the shelf, here are a few ideas to help you craft the perfectly curated Easter basket for baby’s first Easter!
I pulled out some of the Easter and bunny themed books we have and put them on display in Rooney’s nursery this week. If you’re interested in what’s on our wishlist plus some of the collection we own already, I put together this list of 10 Easter Books for Babies.
