Yesterday was a weird day. Yes, it was Friday the 13th (again) so I didn’t expect anything different. After all the warm, sunny weather we’ve been having it was cool and slightly rainy again. I gave my notice at work which was extremely nerve wracking. I’m just starting to get settled into a routine there but we feel like we are being called to Augusta and I needed to go ahead and share the news. After a stressful day at work we headed out to Taco Boy for dinner. While we were waiting (can you believe they already had a line at 5:30?) we saw Thomas Ravenel from Southern Charm stumbling in an out of the bar to hail a cab. When we finally got seated there was another lady talking about him. I’m glad we weren’t the only ones who noticed how silly the situation was. We ended up going to our first Improv Show at Theater 99. One of Alex’s friends from work takes some classes and every time he takes a class he earns free tickets to a show! He brought us last night along with another friend and coworker. We got there at 7:30 for an 8pm show and the room was nearly full! The theater isn’t very large so definitely go to the bathroom before you go and get there early for the best seats. The improv group was so funny! This show was called The Funny Bucket and the actors played different Improv games that were pulled from a hat by the audience members in the front row. It was basically a local version of Whose Line is it Anyways. Right before the Intermission they brought up this guy to talk about his life. I wasn’t really sure why they were doing this but we listened anyways. Things started to get really weird. This professor (who had a daughter) was really into BDSM. I don’t think the audience was expecting things to get that kinky. Anyways, after their interview about random aspects of this guy’s life, the actors made up scenes based on what they think situations in this guy’s life would be. Charleston, stay weird.
