The best part about the Swan House is that everything is original. Its lavish decorations came from the owner when her family passed over the home for use as a museum. During the tour we were greeted by various characters from Mrs. Inman’s life. I told Alex we needed to go to the Biltmore if he thought this interior was over-the-top!

I was most impressed by some of the stories we heard from the guides. The children getting into trouble on the roof. The shower that included a faucet just for testing the water temperature. Oh, to be rich.
