We had a really laid back Thanksgiving weekend and it was perfect. We don't have much time off together and when we do we're usually running errands or out of town so it was a welcome change of pace! I did most of the prep work for our Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday night after work so I just had to pop everything in the oven and cook our turkey loin about an hour before dinner. We woke up fairly early with the pets. I make a breakfast casserole and Alex made us some pour over coffee while we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. We updated our entryway with a new coat rack to store Anegus's leash and treats and then tried to get him to watch the dog show (without success) and checked in with my Mother-in-Law to send Happy Birthday wishes. We finally showered around lunchtime and then took a quick walk around the neighborhood to test out my new camera. My mom and Corey got home from Alabama in the late afternoon and came over for supper. Everything was so tasty (except for maybe the green beans)! I really enjoyed cooking everything this year by myself. It's a lot of work but it was worth it to get to sit down together and celebrate the things we are grateful for this year.
Unfortunately, we didn't exactly Opt Outside on Friday. Petsmart had litter for $8.99/35lb tub vs the $15.99 usual price and that's just too good of a deal to pass up. Since we were out we stopped by Half-Moon Outfitters to say hey to everyone and pick up our Patagonia order. We also got to spend a little time with my Nana and Dad. We ended the day with a walk at Hammond's Ferry and the prettiest rose colored sunset. The light was incredible! No pictures, though, because sometimes life is worth living in the moment more!
I am so thankful we had a couple of quiet days and hope that you had a great Thanksgiving too!
