Yesterday we took a somewhat spontaneous day trip to Asheville despite the rainy weather we’ve been having. It rained the whole trip up but the rain managed to mostly subside by the time we made it to NC. We stopped by Poppin’s Posies, a dahlia farm I learned about through our engagement photographer’s Instagram. We met Judy and Bill and they helped us pick out a huge bucket of flowers to take home. Judy was so knowledgeable. I was so grateful for her time. We learned so much about picking, preparing, and arranging flowers. Hopefully next time we buy some from the grocery store they’ll last a bit longer. Our bucket had enough flowers to make two huge arrangements when we got home! One is full of hot pink, burgundy, and light pink dahlias. The other with pink, cafe au lait, and mango dahlias. There’s also a bit of Mexican Sage thrown in! Just gorgeous. Do stop by on your next trip to the mountains!
