We are flying to Chicago for our Christmas vacation and decided just to take a carry-on bag. I’ve only done this once before and it was for a week-long trip to the lake in Canada where we didn’t leave the cottage and spent most of our waking hours in a bathing suit. When we went to Scotland we only took hiking backpacks and it was a challenge to fit two weeks of clothes and shoes in just one bag. I’m beginning to become more of a minimalist and this trip has helped me perfect my packing. All it takes is a bit of planning. I usually like to keep my clothes fairly basic. Most things are white and black, grey, or denim. For pops of color in the colder months I tend to stick to burgundy or forest green because I look good in those colors. Here’s what I plan to wear during our five day trip to the Windy City. I plan to alternate between the black pants and jeans and to layer the shirts and sweaters to create a few different looks. I may add one other pair of shoes in case we decide to go somewhere nicer for dinner. And of course, this picture doesn’t include undergarments and a pair of pajamas! Now I just need to help Alex pick his outfits to match!
