First Father’s Day
To celebrate Alex’s first Father’s Day, our little family of three headed to Ubora Coffee Roasters in downtown Augusta so we could be treated to someone else brewing our morning cup! Alex and I both had a ham and cheese croissant. He went for a pour over and a cortado. I went for something a bit more fancy— a caramel frozen coffee. We ran into a few people we knew and traded off feeding Rooney bits of the soft part of my croissant and squeaking her little lion taggie to keep her entertained before naptime.
My dad, his girlfriend, and my younger sister came over for lunch. Alex cooked hamburgers for us on the grill and I made a fresh pasta salad with penne, asparagus, tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, and Green goddess dressing. We had such a nice afternoon catching up. My dad said it was one of the best he’s had in a long time.
For Father’s Day I gifted my beer-loving husband a hat I found at Target that says “Hops for Pops”. To play off the theme, I ordered a few stickers from Casey Underwood including this Trout Hops decal. We spent the rest of the afternoon doing some chores and getting ready for the week ahead. Rooney was so clingy and actually ended up taking three naps! She was pretty worn out by the end of the day so Alex was a real gem and got her ready for bed so I could rest for a bit. It was a nice but simple Father’s Day and I can’t wait for more in the years to come.
