With Christmas just around the corner I wanted to share a mini living room tour of this year’s holiday decor. We’ve kept things pretty low key. I decided to focus on three main parts of our living space: our bar cart, the mantle, and the media organizer where we keep our records and part of our camera collection. For the bar cart I picked up a Christmas cactus from Lidl, and fairy lights and a plaid bunting to hang around the top to give it a little flair. I feel like I often overlook styling our bar cart but it’s a great place to add a touch of seasonal decor. I added a garland and fairy lights to our mantle this year along with a few lighted mini trees to make our space feel cozy and festive. I picked up the wooden snowflake stocking holders from Target last year and I think they work perfectly with our decor and overall design style. The stockings my mom made for Alex and I are hung by the fire and I just can’t get enough of the colors and patterns I selected for them! I love that our holiday decor isn’t the traditional red and green color scheme.  In case you are wondering why you don’t see it pictured here, we decided to put our Christmas tree in our bedroom this year so our dogs wouldn’t steal the ornaments or our gifts!  Instead of a large Christmas tree, I added a small prelit tree with a rustic star near our record player. We also have just a couple of Nutcrackers that are placed nearby. If you haven’t guessed already, the “dollar” section at Target is a lifesaver for season decor in our home. The mirrored Happy Holidays sign gives this space a little extra sparkle by reflecting the lights from the tree. I decided to leave the pumpkins out on the breakfast nook table but added a small vase of fake frosted flowers and a seasonal scented candle to make things feel a bit more cozy. Our house is full of mixed metals but I thought the mercury glass vase worked best with the chrome legs on our CB2 dining table! So there you have it, a quick look at our holiday decor for 2017!
