Weekend Link Roundup - January 13, 2017

Weekend Link Roundup:

These embroidered portraits by Cayce Zavalia are incredible! The texture she creates from the colored threads remind me of Van Gogh's brush strokes.

I can't believe it's been 10 years since J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry, Ron, and Hermione got me through some rough times. Their final adventure in the series was one of my favorites. Who's up for another trip to Edinburgh to visit the Balmoral?

Gabriela shared this tip on how to organize your photo library on the Rising Tide Society Facebook group and I think it's how I'm going to get a handle on our iMac this year.

Would you want the right to disconnect from work? Yes, I do, and I encourage you to do the same.

Climate change is a huge threat to our National Parks and soon we'll have a new President who doesn't seem to care about or believe in either. It's a huuuge mistake.

We shopped for fruits and veggies in bulk and naturally had way too much. I followed a few of these tips to freeze our bananas, blueberries, and strawberries before they went bad. We'll be using them up in smoothies soon.

You are not for everyone. So be yourself, and stop apologizing for it.

Currently Reading:

I finished up Let My People Go Surfing by Yvon Chouinard this week and I'm already on to book two of the year, Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling. I'm about 80% done and plan to finish this weekend. I forgot that we have an extra day off of work to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and I plan on being productive. I haven't decided which book will be next but Alex got me plenty to keep busy with for the next few months.

Currently Watching:

*spoiler*

The Great American Baking Show ended this week and Amanda was the winner! I'm glad a southern girl took home the title this season.

I finally finished Stranger Things and I have so many questions. I can't wait for Season 2!

Today felt like summer and I spent the day walking around Hillcrest taking survey photos. This house on Peachtree was my favorite! This long weekend we are planning to paint our guest bedroom which I'm really excited about! It's long overdue. ย
