The Met

After spending way too long admiring Manus x Machina, we grabbed some brunch at the cafeteria near the entrance to the exhibit. We ran into an impromptu dance rehearsal in the Medieval Art Hall. The museum staff didn't seem to know anything about it but someone asked a dancer once their performance was completed and they said it was for a scheduled performance during Museum Week in the city. It was really beautiful to see a performance piece around other beautiful art. Their movements and the music filled the space effortlessly as if it were completely normal for them to be using the space. We spent the rest of our time admiring the American Art and European Painting collections. We were in the museum nearly five hours and barely made a dent in the collection. You could probably spend a week there and still not see everything. Seriously. It's huge. It was good that we spent so long inside because there was a torrential downpour. It made us a little nervous about our Beyonce concert that night but more on that later...
