Friday night we headed over to the Evans Towne Center Park for the 2016 Papa Joe's Banjobque. We've been going inconsistently for quite a while now. I can remember back in the day when it was held at the Hippodrome in North Augusta. It's definitely gotten bigger and better since then! Since Alex works this Memorial Day weekend and we couldn't take an overnight trip out of town, we decided really last minute to go to the festival. We were anxious to see Blitzen Trapper, a band that's been on repeat on our stereo for years. Next year, we'll be smart and volunteer like James and Chris so we can get in for free!
After stopping by the petting zoo to see our favorite friend Landon, the wee highland coo, we started to look for seats and ran into so many people that we knew! My nephew and brother-in-law were there with friends but we ended up sitting next to some of Alex's co-workers. We had a great time looking at all the cute pups and managed to eat enough food to survive the amount of alcohol consumed. I wouldn't call myself a Willie Nelson fan but I was pleasantly surprised by his performance and the amount of songs I actually recognized! It was a night full of great friends, beer, and music!
See you in 2017?
