How is it the end of the month already? If you're reading this we're on our way to see Band of Horses for the fourth time, which I'm just a little excited about! In the meantime, I'm continuing my Follow Friday series.
I've been wanting to brag on a few* of my friends who are doing pretty cool things. I've been thinking a lot about creating community, not competition and this is just a small way for me to lift up my gal pals up instead of falling into the trap of jealousy and comparison.
*I'm going to continue this series, so don't feel left out if you weren't featured this week!
My friend Kristin is another person I turn to when I need business advice. She quit her full-time job to focus on her Etsy shop, KE Design Studio, where she offers custom invitations, stationery, and paper goods! If you've ever seen the monogram keychain I wear on my travel packs, she created it! I really enjoy following Kristin on Instagram because she gives a behind the scenes look at what it's like to run her business in addition to showcasing her current work and future products. She keeps me inspired to be more creative and not give up on making my dreams a profitable reality!
Next is my good friend Amelia. Amelia is currently reading for her Masters in Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London! One of my favorite things about Amelia's artwork is her use of bright colors and patterns. Lately, I've been interested in watching her digital pattern work develop! A print of St. Luke's and St. Paul's - Charleston (pictured above) hangs in the entryway to our bedroom. Amelia has been keeping a blog on her adventures in the art world. Be sure to check that out for a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most incredible artwork housed in London's galleries.
Here are a few things I've been reading, listening to, thinking about, or watching lately:
How to avoid sitting so much at work and ways to remedy long bouts of inactivity.
This election season and President Obama's reasons why running a business is not like government.
Like everyone else I'm excited to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them next month in theatres. For now I'm catching up on all things Harry Potter like this article on the importance of Halloween in the books.
Now that the weather is cooling down, I need to make this recipe for Red Wine Hot Chocolate ASAP! I'll be sure to let you know if I do...
We're 100% caught up on New Girl which is a very strange feeling. We're serial binge watchers when it comes to TV so I'm not sure how to react! Not to worry though, I haven't finished Stranger Things or Narcos yet!
